Mr. Felix!  He's a flashy dresser~ He also is the highest scorer on the English test!  With an eight piece precision tool set he can fix almost anything that is broken. Marc currently works as a street vendor making pies that taste yummy! When you need some good food look him up, you'll find him around Delmas 31 and Rue Marien area. Ralph - A leader!

Ralph is one of my older students.  When you ask him how old is he just smiles.  Ralph loves learning English and shares his skill with other "young folks" that don't have the chance to come to class.  Ralph can speak, read and write French, Creole and English.  This young man is wise. Blaise - One of Haiti's future leaders

  

Blaise is the co-founder of Les Entreprises Badeau et Blaise.
You will find him an irresistible young man. He's always thinking of ways to help his country. When we first met, I was positive he would be a politician however, he assures me that I am not correct. We'll see! Blaise speaks, reads and writes French, Creole and English. He loves to have the last word and often you will find its "your words" that he's repeating back to you. This young man is Elie Francois a graduate from Lycee Toussaint Louberture.  Elie is one of the group leaders.  His responsibilities are group management and coordination.  Elie is also responsible for calculating and tracking expenses for the group.  Elie is fluent in Haitian Creole, French and English and is looking forward to putting his English speaking skills to work.  If you would like to know more about Elie or speak to him please contact him at vickisvision@gmail.com

Meet Jhonny Lindor.  He lives in the Delmas 33 area with his father.  He has completed national exams and is currently working as a volunteer teacher, teaching English.  He volunteers five days a week for no less than five hours a day.  His commitment to his fellow Haitians is unmatched.  Jhonny is fluent in Haitian Creole, French and English.  He is looking to put his English skills to work.  Without a doubt, Jhonny is on the spot!

Future Leader - Ybens

Meet Ybens.  He's a future leader of Haiti!  Ybens is my youngest student.  During my visit to see my students we shopped at the local street market.  Ybens was our head chef.  He loves cooking and spent several hours cleaning fruits and veggies to prepare a delicious meal for us. Future leader - Jameson

Meet Jameson, indeed he's a future leader of Haiti. Jameson is/was my first teaching assistant in Haiti. When I met Jameson we barely could communicate in English. A year later we can't stop talking to each other!  During our class, Jameson is my eyes and ears in the classroom. He takes attendance, interprets information that I am trying to explain to the students, fixes the broken computer and printer, grades quizzes and offers encouragement to both myself and the students that attend class.

Jameson will be traveling to the United States to attend the City University of New York, working towards a degree in Computer Science. After Jameson graduates he will be returning to Haiti to use his skills to rebuild his country. Jameson has never left Haiti and is excited to learn about the American culture. Future Leader - Waldy

Meet Waldy, his mother, father, brother and sister.  They live in Delmas 33.  Waldy's father is a tailor and his mother a business woman, that sells food products on the streets of Port au Prince.  Waldy was one of 200 students who were selected to go to medical school in Haiti.  The school, by American standards is very inexpensive but for Waldy's family it's very expensive. They must pay $1800 a year. When I was in Haiti I was telling him about student loans, which of course they don't have in Haiti.  So I though I would try to see if I could find a sponsor for him in the United States that would pay his $1800.  He'd be happy to make a contract with you to pay it back when he graduates.  If you are interested, please contact vickisvision@gmail.com  Let's make sure this future leader of Haiti can pay for medical school.
