Meet Jameson, indeed he's a future leader of Haiti. Jameson is/was my first teaching assistant in Haiti. When I met Jameson we barely could communicate in English. A year later we can't stop talking to each other! During our class, Jameson is my eyes and ears in the classroom. He takes attendance, interprets information that I am trying to explain to the students, fixes the broken computer and printer, grades quizzes and offers encouragement to both myself and the students that attend class. Jameson will be traveling to the United States to attend the City University of New York, working towards a degree in Computer Science. After Jameson graduates he will be returning to Haiti to use his skills to rebuild his country. Jameson has never left Haiti and is excited to learn about the American culture. If you would like to offer financial support to Jameson or just a letter of encouragement send me an email at vickisvision@gmail.com |
Vicki’s Vision is guided by some basic, yet demanding principles. I do not give time, energy, assistance or money blindly to those who ask. Rather, I attempt to instill a sense of pride, personal growth, creativity and ownership in the students who express a committed interest in making their lives better. I measure success by how my investments have changed a single individual and by extension their family. It is my sincere hope that my efforts outlast and preserver far beyond my mortal life.
